The Treasurer in the Life palace

天府命宫

Tiān Fǔ in Mìng Gōng — also called the Ming palace

Purple Star editorial · Reviewed

The Treasurer (天府 Tiān Fǔ) in the Life palace (命宫, the Ming palace) — your core self — character, potential, life direction: The Treasurer is steady and conservative, a natural keeper of wealth, dignified in bearing — well suited to government, banking, and the administration of large organisations.

The Life palace is the master palace: whichever star sits here colours your whole temperament, the shape of your ambitions, and how the world first reads you.

What it means

In the Life palace the Treasurer is steady and conservative, a natural keeper of wealth, dignified in bearing — well suited to government, banking, and the administration of large organisations. The essence is management and preservation: this is a life of building and holding rather than bold generation, and while it does not make money spectacularly, it guards it superbly. Honest, loyal, rule-abiding and averse to risk, it reads as thoroughly trustworthy.

The shadow side

The Treasurer's caution is its ceiling. It protects what already exists so faithfully that it can forget the vault is only worth what it lets you build; the growth edge is to occasionally reach for what could be, not just defend what is.

The Four Transformations (四化) — Flow, Power, Merit and Obstacle — can sharpen or soften any of this depending on your exact birth year. Your own chart shows which are active.

From the classics

「逢府看相,逢相寻府」

Where you find the Treasury, look to the Minister; where you find the Minister, seek the Treasury — Tian Fu and Tian Xiang are read as a pair, each completing the other.
