The Sun (太阳, Tài Yáng — also written taiyang) is one of the 14 main stars of Zi Wei Dou Shu: the giver of light — generous, visible, driven to contribute in public.
Its nature
Tai Yang radiates. You are generous, warm and drawn to contribute in public; people gather round your energy and recognition tends to find you. The Sun favours open, honourable work — government, management, teaching, anything with a public face — and it shines brightest in its exalted seats, where name and reward arrive together.
The shadow side
The Sun burns out by giving too much, and needs to be needed. Placed in its fallen positions it labours without reward — great effort, thin return — and must consciously choose where to spend its light rather than pouring it everywhere at once.
