The Charmer (贪狼, Tān Láng — also written tanlang) is one of the 14 main stars of Zi Wei Dou Shu: the star of desire — versatile, socially gifted, hungry for experience.
Its nature
Tan Lang is appetite and charm together: versatile, socially magnetic and hungry for experience of every kind — art, pleasure, people, mastery. It can talk to anyone about anything, and it holds a famous promise of late bloom: showy and scattered when young, it often reaches its real achievement in middle life. Paired with the fire stars it can even signal sudden fortune.
The shadow side
The Charmer's appetite, unfocused, scatters its many gifts and slides toward indulgence — the star literally gathers wine, romance, money and risk under one roof. Chosen discipline multiplies its talents; the lack of it wastes them.
